Hello, All.

The first season of “The Newsroom” (quickly becoming one of my favorite shows on TV) has highlighted some intriguing and important issues regarding the inherent problems with today’s large media conglomerates.

An amusing sidebar to this is that the actress playing Atlantis World Media’s CEO in the show is Jane Fonda.  As I’m sure most people know, she was married to Ted Turner during the height of his media empire and I’m fairly certain it is no coincidence she was offered the part.  This ingenious piece of meta casting sparked in me a renewed fascination with The Ted and his career.  As a media entrepreneur extraordinaire, he embodies the kind of ingenuity that we are striving for at One 3 productions.

During a subsequent late night research binge on The Mouth of the South, I came across a fascinating feature he wrote back in 2004 about the rise of Big Media and its inevitable repercussions - something we now take for granted in 2012.  I highly recommend giving it a read.
